Background: Next Tuesday, we will be looking at ways that Cary Academy's students and teachers use multimedia and simulations at Cary Academy.
We will investigate how animations, applets, and screencasting (and YouTube) are being used in Cary Academy's classrooms. Our session on Tuesday (Valentines Day!) will be interactive as you will collaborate with your fellow PTAA friends while participating in a simple science-math lesson. No worries- only basic science-math skills required.

In light of this, our homework is designed to prepare you to investigate these multimedia and simulations. THIS HOMEWORK SHOULD TAKE YOU NO MORE THAN 20 MINUTES.

I. THINGS TO THINK ABOUT! (Essential Questions for our homework)
1.) Are there differences between an animation, an interactivity (applet), and a screencast?
2.) In what ways do you know that your students are using YouTube, screencasts, applets, and animations in their learning at CA?

II. TASKS
A. (10 min) Analyze the animation, the applet, and the screencast below. Think about our essential questions as you analyze them.
1.) An animation (science)

Click on the words "solid", "liquid", and "gas" in this animation.
